Bird Feeder
a squirt of fluff
flitting somehow
so off-the-cuff
tween branch and bough
scruffled necks
quivering quills
sudden pecks
from busy bills
a nibbled nut,
a sprightly hop,
a cocky strut
as seed shells drop
a flutter of flight
a beady eye
a patch of white
caught on the fly
a chirp, a dart
superb acrobatics
from lords of the art
of aerodynamics
taking off, hitting brakes
in a flash of blue,
no number to take,
or lengthy queue
no schedules to face
no Tower's decisions
on allotted airspace…
yet zero collisions
no cancellations
no union pickets
no reservations ,
no gates, no tickets
the rest rooms are large
(one can pee over ponds)
and there's no extra charge
for carry-ons
no curbs on rights,
or independence,
no detoured flights
no flight attendants
no top-down solutions,
no rigid rules;
and no pollution
from fossil fuels
air flight controllers
totally stumped:
no drunks, no smokers
and no one gets bumped
sublime atmosphere
first class status
the air is clear
and the meals are gratis
