Lying Lost Among Your Arms
Lying lost among your arms and thighs,
Comparing them, my love, to that or this, is
Laughable, absurd, and as unwise
As making a commodity of kisses.
To say, my love, your limbs are soft as silk,
Or like the finest satin such and such,
To say they're smooth and white as snow or milk,
Misses the true essence of your touch.
And like the weary wanderer of the land,
Who comes at last upon the ocean's shore,
Beholds the breaking waves caress the sand
And has no need to wander any more;
Lying in the bliss your body brings
I would not fly thy haven had I wings.
